House Hearing on ADAS and Self-Driving Cars

On March 28, 2017, the House Energy & Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Digital Commerce and Consumer Protection held a hearing entitled: “Self-Driving Cars: Levels of Automation.”

Acknowledging that it may take decades for fully automated vehicles to infiltrate the vehicle fleet, the hearing provided an opportunity for members and invited witnesses to discuss how currently available Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) can deliver safety benefits in the near term.  The hearing also provided members another opportunity to ask questions about automated driving technology and the challenges that lie ahead. 

Invited witnesses included the following persons:
